• Messages: the content of in-app chats and messages you exchange with other users.
• Location data: approximate location derived from your profile region or GPS coordinates you add to listings.
• Usage data: pages viewed, actions taken, device type, and session information collected for analytics.
• Payment information: when you make or receive payments via MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money, we process the transaction reference and phone number; we do not store full card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To display your listings and profile to other users so they can contact you and transact with you.
• To facilitate in-app messaging, orders, deliveries, and notifications between buyers and sellers.
• To process payments and payouts through mobile money providers.
• To provide AI-powered farming advice, market trend insights, and crop disease detection.
• To improve the Service, monitor usage, detect fraud, and ensure security.
• To send you service notifications, such as new orders, messages, or listing approvals.

3. Sharing of Your Information

We share limited information with other users as needed for the marketplace to function — for example, your name, listings, and contact details (such as your WhatsApp number) are visible to users who view your listings or receive messages from you. We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate the platform (such as hosting, analytics, email, and payment providers), and where required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and listing information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your listings at any time. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data from active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for processing where applicable. You can update your profile from within the app or contact us to exercise these rights.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

FoodShroom is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
